Sun Filter For Telescope
sun filters for telescopes?
what would you recommend for a filter so i can look at sun spots and flares
A full aperture filter for seeing sunspots and the disc of the sun is a good start. The sunspots are visible in good detail, and ranulation on the surface may be visible if you have a good scope. A number of manufacturers make them in all sizes.
For prominences and flares, a hydrogen-alpha filter at least is required. That’s getting pricey.
